I did not enjoy the second half quite as much, but it was still engaging. The characters, who came from different backgrounds were all interesting and the ‘villains’ of sorts too proved to be intriguing as well. It describes how an unlikely group of people unite to find out about the eclipse and I thought that was really intriguing. Would they be driven to madness at the sight of the stars for the first time? For the first time in thousands of years, the planet would be in darkness, and no one knows how people would react. At least, that is how it is, till a total eclipse is predicted. Because of the six suns, the planet is never in darkness, in fact, the idea of darkness is alien to the residents of the planet. Nightfall is set on a planet with six suns. Asimov has been quite a hit-or-miss author for me, and I hadn’t read anything by Silverberg before, so I was keen to know whether I’d like this one. Nightfall is an expansion of the short story by the same name written by Asimov.
